Sandra Skuja, Ph.D., Asst. Prof., is a Leading Researcher at the Joint Laboratory of Electron Microscopy, Institute of Anatomy and Anthropology, Rīga Stradiņš University.

Her scientific interests are morphological studies of human brain tissue. Her main domain of research is neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, cellular vulnerability of different brain regions, HHV-6, HHV-7, human parvovirus B19. She has published 18 original papers.
