Manfred Weiss
Professor Manfred Weiss, Dr. med., expert in Intensive care medicine and clinical expertise in running studies for biomarker determination, daily clinical scoring of patients treated for SIRS, sepsis, and COVID-19. Along list of publications addressed immune activation against pathogens in septic patients suffering from a range of comorbidities including autoimmune dysfunction is available. Since 2016 he concentrates on the diagnosis of virus induced hemophagocytosis in patients with autoimmune diseases (mostly Crohns disease, and rheumatoid arthritis) treated by intensive care. Manfred Weiss has a standing record on running intensive care units, teaching of medical students and taking care of patients’ needs and their relatives. His special experience are biomarkers of infectious diseases also using point-of-care devices such as LeukoDX for CD64.
